Galliano L'incroyable

No, it is impossible to bury a vivid genius in oblivion. A genius is like a weariless water stream which will certainly break free having overcome all barriers on its way.

Galliano is a never ending feast. It is the fashion by way of boundless art. I am willing to watch Galliano’s collection over and over: every single experience brings delight, uncovers details previously unspotted and gives new vision. This huge and powerful energy charge John shares with people through his creative work encourages our craving for beauty and inspires us to create.

It is only a few days since the general public has got to know about John Galliano’s “return”. The official confirmation of Oscar de la Renta’s invitation made to the designer “in exile” was followed by society’s bursting reaction.

//Flashback// There is hardly a person who has not discussed Galliano’s dismissal from Dior and made any predictions about his future. I have always thought his return was a matter of time despite the complicated circumstances he was in. Alcoholism, the juicy scandal which caused the dismission from both Dior and John Galliano brands and other consequences are not the only things that have fallen to the lot of Galliano. As early as last autumn Raf Simons’s interview has created waves. The new creative director of Christian Dior has claimed Galliano’s work to be irrelevant while John himself was metaphorically consigned to the dustbin of history. However, Simons has only added fuel to the fire: his word have increased the craving for Galliano’s work in the fashion world.

The new year for John is a new stage in his career. Galliano will head to New-York where he is going to spend three weeks in Oscar de la Renta’s, his long-time friend’s, studio, surrounded by the atmosphere of fashion and art.

Galliano’s fans are anticipating with bated breath: what to expect from the designers’ collaboration? For me it is very intriguing. I wonder whether it is going to be a free realization of Galliano’s own fantasies or John will try to work within the conception of “Oscar de la Renta”. Or maybe (no matter how insane it might sound) Oscar, who is 80 years old, has seen a successor in Galliano. Still none has unveiled this secret.

This “act” has encouraged our best hopes for the possessor’s of an incredible talent return. Once bitten, twice shy, however. In 2011 many predicted Galliano’s return by virtue of Kate Moss’s help. It is quiet complicated to argue about how Galliano’s career will develop after working for “Oscar de la Renta”. But I strongly wish this step not to be the only on Galliano’s new way. Let his creations bring delight to people once again.

But these were introductory words, whilst I would like to suggest you looking through his works: starting with the collection of a talented and promising St. Martin’s college graduate and advance to the couture creations of Christian Dior’s famous designer.
