Chocabeck

On Monday I've been given an opportunity to experience a great event.
Moscow. Crocus City Hall. 8 "post meridiem". Zucchero.

And I had a great pleasure to go there with Milana.

And finally the concert began.
Our seats were very close to the stage which made the impression even more vivid. The decorations were in Italian style: a peaceful rural scenery looming behind a colonnade which divided it into a kind of triptych, bunches of grapes hanging from the ceiling which originally were illuminating the room. Also lamps in the shape of a bell changing their color. And the stylised drums representing dials.

In the Reggiano dialect “choka” means “make a noise” and “beck” means “beak”.
“It was an expression my father used when I was a child. Whenever I asked him if there was anything to eat, rather than tell me there was nothing, he would say “A ghe di chocabeck” – “There’s chocabeck”.
“For ages I thought these “chocabecks” were really good to eat. I’m still looking forward to having some!”
“Chocabeck – is an album about my roots”.

This album is undoubtedly full of lyricism, nostalgia and symbolism. It's all about his origin, his life and becoming and about the time which seperates the peaceful italian corner and today.

Meanwhile I dare say this person on the stage, whom the audience cheers with standing ovations, would give all his success and welfare to return to his childhood and enjoy the chocabecks.
